Workshop: Coastal Maine: Body, Landscape & the Creative Process
August 4 - 8. With Colleen Wahl. Housed on an idyllic property in Harrington, ME, this weeklong, immersive experience is a hybrid residency-workshop designed to facilitate your creative process through somatic experiences and relevant outdoor excursions into Maine’s spectacular landscape.Interested in working through your body to refresh or deepen your creative practice? Curious how time in nature opens your senses and enlivens what you are already working on? Each morning begins with a guided movement practice that connects you to your body. After a nourishing lunch we will venture out into the natural world. Every day includes open time for you to work in your chosen modality – write, read, or draw, paint, as well as time in community of other participants to share your work and reflections. Example: notice the spreading of the five rays of your toes. Let it ground you. Later your spreading feet experience their buoyancy on a moderate hike to the summit of a nearby mountain, or they rest in the sun and wind on the rocks of a hidden Acadia beach. Later in the day, this new learning transforms how you describe your familial relationships in a memoir. Join us – whatever you are working on!
All levels; beginners encouraged
