Introduction to Wood Turning
July 7 - 18 With Tim McKee. In this introductory workshop, students will learn the excitement and joy of making simple, beautiful wooden objects.Using locally sourced materials students will learn mounting techniques, grain direction, types of cuts, sanding and finishing. Instructor Tim McKee will also teach proper grinding and sharpening, safe tool handling techniques, and the importance of muscle memory to cultivating a feel for form and design. Students can expect to go home with a solid foundation in turning from which to explore new techniques and designs on their own.
All tools and equipment are provided. All levels; beginners encouraged.
